Biography
Lana Tannir is an award-winning nature photographer, science storyteller, and biologist based in Germany. A National Geographic Explorer, Girls Who Click partner photographer, and member of the International League of Conservation Photographers, she documents the relationship between humans and nature, focusing on underrepresented species, remote regions, and marine ecosystems.

Her work has been featured in podcasts, interviews, and publications, including cover stories in National Geographic and Oceanographic Magazine, as well as features in Terra Mater, BBC Science Focus, Wildlife Photographic, Sony Alpha Universe, and Sidetracked Magazine, among others. Her photographs are regularly exhibited internationally at venues including the Maritime Museum in Rostock, the Australian National Maritime Museum, FREELENS Gallery, and photoMUENCHEN.
Her work has been awarded at Ocean Photographer of the Year, Nature Photographer of the Year, and the International Photography Awards, and selected for the Hamburg Portfolio Review. She also serves as a judge for photography competitions, including Nature Photographer of the Year, Nature TTL, and National Geographic Balkans. Through her talks at TEDx and leading photography events, she explores how visual storytelling can bring scientific research and conservation issues to wider audiences and deepen our understanding of the natural world.
